The A-Mark Student Journalism Award
Criteria for Award
1. The student must complete a scholarship application
2. The student must be on the school newspaper or radio station.
3. Have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
4. Must be planning on continuing their education with a degree or career in Journalism, Mass Com, or a related field.
5. Must be enrolled for the entire academic year.
6. Must be a full-time student.
7. The student consents to provide A-Mark with their name, accomplishments, and career plans. Student headshot
8. Required Essay: In 500 words or fewer, write about your plan to enter the journalism field, your experience with STLCC’s student media, and your thoughts about the role of media in our society in the next ten years. Essays will be judged based on how well the student can articulate their goals and perspectives and their level of contribution to STLCC’s student media using the rubric below. (We do not support the use of AI in scholarship applications. If AI is suspected, the applicant will be disqualified.)
9. The essay will be reviewed and rated by the CDCA Communication Chairs
